Evidence informed counselling
I have more than 20 years of experience working in community and hospital-based mental health settings, providing group, individual and family counselling services. Across my career, I’ve acquired extensive knowledge and skill in the assessment and treatment of individuals and families.
My practice is evidence informed, meaning that I draw from theories and intervention models that have demonstrated positive outcomes for clients. I consult and train mental health professionals in the international Stop Now and Plan (SNAP®) Model and have been a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Social Work.
Feel more connected as a family
I began my career in community mental health working with children, youth and families where emotion regulation, intergenerational trauma, toxic stress, disruptive behaviours, and family conflict are prominent concerns. Family members often report feeling disconnected from each other, frustrated and overwhelmed. I regularly hear parents ask, “Am I failing?” I can help children, youth, and parents feel more confident and most importantly, more connected as a family.

Later in my career, my focus shifted to working with adults struggling to find and maintain healthy relationships with themselves and others. Often, early childhood experiences inform how adults behave in relationships. I can help you develop a more accepting and compassionate relationship with yourself and more satisfying relationships with others.
